Why make the trip
Buffalo already knows what a lake town feels like in winter; this is the other side of that coin. Two and a half hours west along I-90, one road, no navigation, and the Ohio shore of Lake Erie is warmer, flatter and planted with vines. Coming from a city with its own strong wine region nearby, the interesting part is the contrast: same lake, different appellation, different reds.
