Vincent William is a family-run winery, restaurant and inn in Madison, Ohio. We make wine here and cook with ingredients from nearby farms. The mansion was finished over eight years, using reclaimed stone, slate and roadway brick. Lake Erie and the vineyard are part of everyday life on the property.
The Grand River Valley is still underestimated
Wineries, farms, Lake Erie, fishing, small towns, Geneva-on-the-Lake and Ashtabula Harbor all sit within a relatively compact region. A lot of people still do not realize how much there is to do here. We think that is beginning to change.
Vincent William is meant to be part of that change, not a property separated from the region, but one more reason to spend time in it.
How we think about it
Hospitality is the harder part
Lake Erie is outside the windows and the vineyard is outside the door. Our family runs the restaurant, winery and inn here in Madison.
People come for birthdays, anniversaries, proposals and weekends away. We cook for them, care for the rooms and help them plan their time here.
In 2026, readers put Vincent William in the top five in four categories of Cleveland Magazine’s Best of Cleveland: Best Winery, Best Boutique Hotel, Best Patio and Hot Spot.
