Harpersfield Covered Bridge

The Harpersfield bridge is a two-span timber crossing of the Grand River built in 1868, 228 feet long, and the third longest covered bridge in Ohio. A steel truss was added at one end after a flood took out the bank, which is why it reads as a hybrid.

There is a park on the riverbank beside it with picnic tables and river access, so unlike most of the county's bridges this is one you can sit at rather than simply photograph and leave.

It sits in the middle of the winery corridor, minutes from M Cellars and the Route 307 cluster, which makes it the natural halfway point of a wine-country afternoon.
