Conneaut Creek

The far eastern end of Steelhead Alley, and worth the drive when the run is on.
Conneaut Creek sits at the Pennsylvania end of the Ohio shore and holds fish from late October through to the end of April. It is a long creek with a great deal of public access and a reputation among people who fish this coast seriously.
It is the furthest of the three from us: about forty-five minutes, so it is a committed day rather than a morning. Anglers who make the drive tend to do it because the water is genuinely good and the crowds thin out the further east you go.
Conneaut town itself is a working harbor with a decent breakfast, which matters when you are on the water at first light.

Pair it with the Smolen-Gulf bridge on the way back: it is more or less on the route and takes fifteen minutes.
