Conneaut Creek

Conneaut Creek sits at the Pennsylvania end of the Ohio shore and holds fish from late October through to the end of April. It is a long creek with a great deal of public access and a reputation among people who fish this coast seriously.

It is the furthest of the three from us: about forty-five minutes, so it is a committed day rather than a morning. Anglers who make the drive tend to do it because the water is genuinely good and the crowds thin out the further east you go.

Conneaut town itself is a working harbor with a decent breakfast, which matters when you are on the water at first light.
