Cleveland Guardians Playoffs, Fireside
The game on, the fall menu out, and a fire going in the dining room.
Postseason baseball in Cleveland runs late into October, which is exactly when the fires get lit here. The game goes on, the fall menu comes out, and the lake goes dark behind it.
Where to sit
The wine bar has the screens and the fireplace. The dining room faces the water. Neither is a sports bar, which is the point: you can follow the game and still hear the table.
What to eat
Nonna’s meatballs under whipped ricotta, honey whipped ricotta with fire-roasted Padron peppers, a stone-fired flatbread to share. The pork chop with cacio e pepe cream corn if you are settling in for extra innings. Croissant bread pudding or an affogato to finish.
What to drink
The estate Cabernet Franc, black cherries and dates over candied currants, or the Zinfandel for something bigger. Irish whiskeys and cocktails at the bar.
Make it a night
Eight adults-only rooms upstairs, private baths, the lake out every window, and breakfast cooked to order in the morning. Nobody drives home after extra innings.
Wednesday through Sunday. Book a table, or call (440) 428-1300.
