Ohio Wineries with Lodging: Where to Stay

Planning an Ohio wine weekend starts with a practical choice: sleep at a winery, or book lodging near the tasting rooms you want to visit. This guide includes several winery stays and one nearby cottage property, including our own inn in Madison. It is a selection, not a complete statewide directory; confirm current rooms, tasting hours and dining before booking.

Gervasi Vineyard: Canton

The biggest operation on this list: an Italian-styled resort village with villas and suites arranged around a small lake, plus multiple restaurants and a distillery. If you want a full resort with a vineyard attached, this is the one, about an hour south of Cleveland.

The Lakehouse Inn: Geneva-on-the-Lake

A family-run inn and winery on the Geneva-on-the-Lake strip, with cottages, a day spa and Crosswinds Grille. It sits in the middle of the resort town, which is the draw if you want the strip at your doorstep.

Buccia Vineyards: Conneaut

A small winery bed and breakfast near Ashtabula County’s covered bridges, and one of the originals: a handful of rooms at a working family winery in the state’s far northeast corner.

Water Street Winery Lodging & Retreat: Rock Creek

A winery with lodging in a building dating to about 1880, on three acres in Rock Creek. The tasting room and Airbnb share the historic building, with a covered porch and pavilion outside. Vineyard Woods: Geneva

Lodging rather than a winery: upscale cottages set among the Grand River Valley wineries. You stay here and drive or shuttle to the tasting rooms nearby.

Vincent William Wine: Madison

Our family’s inn has eight adults-only rooms with king or queen beds and private baths in a stone and slate mansion on Lake Erie in Madison, Ohio. The winery, restaurant and rooms share the property. The restaurant serves lunch and dinner Wednesday through Sunday, and the standard cooked-to-order breakfast is included for overnight guests. The pool and shared outdoor hot tub are open May to November 1, weather permitting. Choose Suite 206 for a private in-room Jacuzzi or Suite 205 for its rooftop patio over the lake.
