Where to Take a Birthday or Anniversary Dinner on Lake Erie

Some birthdays call for a big table and some anniversaries call for a table for two. The mansion handles both. Here is how celebrations actually work here, so you can book the right room the first time.

A table for two

We are open Wednesday through Sunday for lunch and dinner. Ask for the north windows: the dining room looks straight over Lake Erie, with a fireplace at the other end for the cold months. The kitchen is Chef Jeff Gable's: Nonna's meatballs, a pork chop with cacio e pepe cream corn, cannoli after. The wine bar pours the estate Cabernet Franc (grown, pressed and aged on the property) and keeps a short list of Irish whiskeys.

A private room for the whole family

Three rooms take most celebrations, and every figure below is seated. The Hearth Room seats sixteen. The Wood Room seats eighteen to twenty-six, depending on how the tables are set. The Cellar seats twenty-five at one long table downstairs. For something bigger, the Tasting Room seats thirty to sixty. Make a night of it

Eight rooms sit above the restaurant: adults only, king or queen, most facing the lake. Staying means the evening does not end at the parking lot: breakfast is cooked to order downstairs the next morning, and from May through November the pool and hot tub above the lake open at nine.
